The Administrative Core (Core A) provides central programmatic leadership and coordination to improve and foster new relationships, to manage future planning, and to facilitate communication between investigators, projects, cores, and other consortium participants. The Administrative Core develops and implements the policies and procedures of the CRC and guides daily operations. The core manages the allocation and distribution of CRC resources (personnel, money, equipment, and supplies) for CRC research. The CRC Biomedical Informatics Workgroup (CBMI) within Core A develops and maintains information systems that increase the efficiency of consortium activities, decrease resource requirements, and enable consistent data collection, thereby enabling and facilitating translational research.
