After obtaining a BS in biology from MIT, Dr. Frank received his MD in 1986 and PhD (in pharmacology) in 1987 from Yale University. After serving as an intern, resident, and chief resident in internal medicine at Yale, he completed training in medical oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in intracellular signal transduction at Harvard Medical School.
In 1995 he brought his laboratory group back to Dana-Farber, where he maintains a clinical practice in leukemia and an active research program.
His laboratory group focuses on understanding the abnormalities in signal transduction pathways which underlie the pathogenesis of malignancies, and the development of targeted therapies which make use of this knowledge.
