Danelle James, M.D.

Project Involvement: Project 3 - Immunology

Danelle F. James, M.D., M.A.S. is an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Division of Hematology-Oncology. Her main research interest is the study of the Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) microenvironment and the clinical-translational development of agents that can be used to target the tumor microenvironment. Dr. James is the clinical principal investigator for the CLL Research Consortium (CRC) study evaluating the combination of Revlimid (lenalidomide) and Rituximab for the treatment of CLL. Dr. James has a particular interest in improving the care of older individuals with CLL. As such, she has been focused on designing clinical studies to specifically evaluate therapeutic interventions in these patients.

Dr. James completed Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Oncology fellowship at UCSD, is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in Hematology and Oncology. Dr. James has had formal education in clinical research methodologies and obtained a Masters degree in Advanced Studies of Clinical Research from UCSD.
