From the North
Via I-93, the Tobin Bridge (Route 1), Route 28
Follow signs to Storrow Drive (exit 26A). Continue for about 1.5 miles, take exit to the left marked "Fenway - Route 1 South," staying in far left lane as you drive up the ramp. At the lights, bear right onto Boylston St. At third set of lights, stay straight as the road merges into Brookline Ave. At fourth set of lights, turn left onto Longwood Ave. Take first right onto Binney St. The main entrance and parking garage are on the right.
From Logan Airport
Follow signs to Sumner Tunnel, bearing left onto I-93 North as you exit tunnel. Go half a mile to exit for Storrow Drive. Continue as described above.
From the South Via Southeast Expressway (I-93, Route 3 North)
Take exit 18 "Massachusetts Ave. – Roxbury." After exiting, follow signs to Massachusetts Ave. At Massachusetts Ave. intersection, go straight onto Melnea Cass Blvd. and continue for 0.9 miles to seventh light, turning left onto Tremont St. At first intersection (Boston Police Station on the corner), turn right onto Ruggles St. At third light, turn left onto Huntington Ave. After passing the Massachusetts College of Art, take a right onto Longwood Ave. At second light, turn left onto Binney St. The main entrance and parking garage are on the right.
From the West
Via Route 9 (Massachusetts Turnpike to Route 128 to Route 9)
Take Mass. Pike (I-90) East to 128 South. Follow to Exit 20A, 9 East Brookline/Boston. Go 6.5 miles to Brookline Avenue. At traffic light for Brookline Ave. (large intersection before overpass with gas station on left and Brook House apartments on right), turn left onto Brookline Ave. and stay in the right lane as you continue on Brookline Ave. for about half a mile. At fifth light, turn right onto Longwood Ave. Take first right onto Binney St. The main entrance and parking garage are on the right.
Via the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) and downtown
Take Mass Pike to Exit 22 "Copley Square/Prudential Center," bearing left toward Prudential. Continue straight onto Huntington Ave. Follow for 1.3 miles. After passing the Massachusetts College of Art, take a right onto Longwood Ave. At second set of lights, go left onto Binney St. The main entrance and parking garage are on the right.

Hospitality Homes

Accommodations: Participants stay in the private homes of volunteer hosts in the Brookline and Greater Boston area. Guests share household facilities with host families. Accommodations vary from host to host. All homes have been visited by program staff to ensure safety and comfort.
Guests: Families, spouses, and friends of patients from all Boston-area medical institutions. Patients considered on a case-by-case basis and must be accompanied by a family member.
Cost: There is no fee, but tax-deductible donations to the program are encouraged. Suggested donation is $20 per night per guest.
Length of stay: Short term, temporary housing. Average stay is 7-10 days.
Availability: With more than 120 hosts, this program has a highly successful placement rate. Guests should apply with as much lead time as possible to ensure placement.
The Boston Ronald McDonald House

Guests: First priority is given to children with cancer 18 years and younger and their families, who are being treated at Children's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Cost: A nominal fee.
Special features: Parking available on limited basis. Access to TV room, library, dining room, playroom, teen room, and laundry room.
The Family Inn

Accommodations: Every family has its own bedroom. Guests share the kitchen, bathrooms, living room, library, and laundry facilities.
Guests: Transplant patients from eight area hospitals and their families. Patients cannot be on I.V. medications or on oxygen.
Cost: $20 per night, $5 for each additional person.
Length of stay: Because all guests are transplant patients, stays may be long-term: two to five months.
Availability: The Inn can house 10 families at a time on a first-come, first-served basis. Waiting list available.
Special features: Perishable foods such as milk and juice, and household supplies including detergent are provided. Parking available on limited basis. Fifteen-minute walk from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Patrick Thompson House

Length of stay: Average stay is two to six weeks.Availability: Seven operational bedrooms, usually at capacity. Waiting list available.
Special features: Equipped with ramp; one handicapped-accessible bedroom and bath. Towels and linens provided. Parking available on limited basis. Fifteen-minute walk from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Room Away From Home Program

Type of program: A collaboration among the care coordination (social work) departments of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, where the program is based.
Accommodations: Hotel room.
Guests: Patients and families.
Cost: $25 per night.
Length of stay: Short-term, three or four nights maximum.
Eligibility: Accepts financially needy patients and family members who live beyond Route 128.
Availability: Based on availability after regular hotel bookings, so arrangements cannot be made far in advance.
